Ahead of the "Seoul International Fireworks Festival," which is expected to draw 1 million people, a post warning of a terror attack was uploaded, prompting police to launch an investigation.
According to police on the 27th, the Nowon Police Station in Seoul received a report at dawn that a post had been uploaded on the online community DC Inside predicting a terror attack at the Han River, and is tracking the author. The post reportedly contained threatening language such as "I will go to the Han River and kill (people) all," ahead of the fireworks festival to be held around Yeouido Hangang Park in Seoul.
The organizers expected 1 million people to gather for the fireworks festival. To maintain order, police will deploy about 3,400 personnel, including 37 riot police units (about 2,200 officers) and 22 mobile patrol teams (about 100 officers).
