A man in his 20s, identified as A, who raped an elementary school student at a taekwondo academy, has been arrested by police.
The Incheon Seobu Police Station on the 24th arrested A on suspicion of intercourse by abuse of authority under the Act on the Protection of Children and Juveniles against Sexual Offenses.
Yu Aram, a warrant-dedicated chief judge at the Incheon District Court, after conducting A's pre-arrest suspect interrogation (substantive warrant review) this afternoon, issued an arrest warrant, saying there was a risk of flight.
A is suspected of molesting and raping B, a girl in elementary school under the age of 13, at a taekwondo academy and in a vehicle in Incheon on the 21st.
Police are said to have been dispatched on the morning of the 22nd after receiving a report from B's parents that "their daughter was raped by a taekwondo instructor." Police reportedly arrested A on an emergency basis at the time.
Police plan to investigate the detailed circumstances of the case and whether there were additional crimes.
