Law firm Robex said on the 22nd that it strengthened its response capabilities in the corporations, finance, and IT fields by bringing on former Suwon High Prosecutors' Office prosecutor Na Ui-yeop (Judicial Research and Training Institute class 34).
Attorney Na was appointed a prosecutor at the Incheon District Prosecutors' Office in 2005 and served at the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office, the Busan District Prosecutors' Office, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, and the Suwon High Prosecutors' Office. Na also served as a research prosecutor at the Supreme Public Prosecutors' Office's Anti-Corruption and Organized Crime Department, which oversaw nationwide anti-corruption and serious crime investigations.
Na served as a prosecutor for 20 years and was recognized for investigative ability, and was frequently seconded to investigative teams for major economic cases in corporations and finance, including the Supreme Prosecutors' Office's Joint Investigation Team on Savings Bank Corruption, the Nuclear Power Plant Corruption Investigation Team, and the Supreme Public Prosecutors' Office Special Investigation Team for Corruption Crimes. Recognized for expertise in this field, Na was also dispatched as a legal adviser to the Financial Services Commission.
Citing Na's performance at the Nuclear Power Plant Corruption Investigation Team, Na was selected in 2015 as a certified specialist prosecutor (energy field, Blue Belt). At the Special Investigation Team for Corruption Crimes, Na reportedly led the investigation and prosecution of the Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering accounting fraud case—the largest accounting fraud by a single corporation—and secured heavy sentences for top management.
