A report that said "a nuclear bomb has been installed" at an elementary school in Gwonseon District, Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, led to the emergency evacuation of 331 people.
According to the Suwon Gwonseon Police Station on the 16th, at 11:22 a.m. that day a report reading "installed a nuclear bomb at A Elementary School" was filed through the 119 Safety Report Center website.
Police and others evacuated 331 people to the playground, including 282 students, 44 faculty and staff, and 5 visitors who were inside the school. No explosives were found in an internal search. Classes have now resumed.
After a trace, police identified a sixth-grader at the school as a suspect and are investigating the facts, including conducting digital forensics on the student's cellphone. The student is said to have denied ever filing the report.
