Owner A, 41, who killed three people by wielding a weapon at a pizza shop in Gwanak-gu, Seoul, appeared in court to undergo a pre-arrest suspect interrogation (warrant review).
Jeong Jae-uk, Director General judge in charge of warrants at the Seoul Central District Court, will hold a warrant review at 3 p.m. on the 12th for A, who is suspected of murder.
At about 2:15 p.m. that day, A arrived at the court with a blue cap and a white mask covering the face. When asked by reporters, "Do you have anything to say to the victims' bereaved families?" A said, "I am sorry."
However, A stayed silent when asked questions such as "Why did you wield the weapon?" "Is it true there was conflict related to the interior business?" and "Was there bullying by the headquarters?"
A is accused of attacking with a kitchen weapon and killing three people on the 3rd at a franchise pizza shop in Jowon-dong, Gwanak-gu (formerly Sillim 8-dong): B, 49, an employee of the headquarters; and C, 60, an interior contractor, and D, 32, who are father and daughter. After the crime, A was seriously injured while attempting to take his own life and has been treated at a hospital.
A was also reported to have admitted to the crime when being transferred to the hospital. As for the motive, A was said to have testified that there had been ongoing conflict with the victims over interior issues such as shop tiles and leaks and that there was an argument on the day of the crime for the same reason.
