In Seoul's Gwanak District, a man in his 60s was caught by police on suspicion of luring an elementary school student.
The Gwanak Police Station in Seoul said on the 10th that it booked and is investigating a man in his 60s, identified as A, on suspicion of attempted abduction of a minor.
A was found to have tried to snatch the hand of B, a female elementary school student on her way to a private academy, around 3 p.m. the previous day in Gwanak District, saying, "Baby, come here."
When officers responded to the report, A denied the crime, saying, "When I see children, I usually tell them to do ballet—what is the problem?" according to reports.
Meanwhile, reports of luring minors were also filed in Incheon and Jeju. The Seobu Police Station in Incheon said on the 10th that it is investigating a man in his 60s, identified as C, on suspicion of attempting to lure a minor. C is suspected of attempting to lure D, a female middle school student, near the Incheon Seobu Power Plant in Cheongna-dong, Seo District, Incheon, at around 4:38 p.m. the previous day.
Also, at around 2:40 p.m. on the 9th, in Seogwipo, Jeju, a man in his 30s, identified as E, was urgently arrested on suspicion of attempting to lure an elementary school student.
