According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 1 Korean man and 1 Korean woman died at the scene, while another Korean woman is undergoing surgery and being treated in the intensive care unit of a local hospital.
The accident occurred in the city of Lisbon on the 3rd. The ground cable tram, known as the "Funicular," is a famous tourist attraction in Lisbon and is used by 3.5 million people annually. It is reported that many foreign tourists were on board at the time of the accident.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained, "Our embassy in the region is in close communication with the Portuguese authorities and is providing all necessary consular assistance, including support for the treatment of injured persons and contact with bereaved families."
