Law firm Yulchon announced on the 4th that it launched the Aerospace & Defense Center on the 1st, which is a specialized organization related to the domestic and international defense and aerospace industries.
Yulchon stated that it plans to provide optimized legal and strategic solutions to corporations in the defense and aerospace sectors through the Aerospace & Defense Center. It will support the overseas expansion of Korean defense and aerospace corporations and provide comprehensive consultations on legal and regulatory issues for global defense and aerospace corporations in Korea.
The center will be led by attorney Jeong Won, an expert in defense and public procurement, attorney Eun Seong-wook, an M&A expert, and veteran attorney Son Geum-joo in the aerospace sector. Additionally, attorney Jo Hee-tae, the overseas defense team will consist of attorneys Song Kwang-seok and Yoo Jong-kwon, while the aerospace team will be headed by attorney Son Geum-joo.
Kang Seok-hoon, the representative attorney of Yulchon, said, "Defense and aerospace are key sectors that determine national security and the competitiveness of future industries," adding, "Yulchon will be a strong partner that helps enhance the global competitiveness of domestic corporations while supporting the stable establishment of foreign corporations in Korea."
On the 3rd, Yulchon also hosted a seminar titled "K-defense international cooperation seminar," inviting defense attachés from overseas embassies stationed in Korea and officials from major domestic defense companies.
At this seminar, Deputy Director Jeong Hee-young of the Defense Acquisition Program Administration presented on "K-defense status and future directions," while Park Young-kyu, a principal researcher at the Korea Research Institute for Defense Technology Planning and Advancement (KRIT), spoke on "the current status of Korea's defense exports and the new government's support direction for defense exports," and attorney Song Kwang-seok from Yulchon discussed "the procedures and issues related to overseas procurement in Korea and legal advice."
