On the 3rd, Yun Dong-han, chairman of Kolmar Group, said at a trial related to the management rights dispute, "I did not want to engage in this litigation; the other side led the matter to court first, and I followed along." It was interpreted as pointing to his son, Yun Sang-hyun, vice chairman of Kolmar Holdings, as the origin of the management rights dispute. This is the first time Yun Dong-han has appeared at a trial to express his position on the management rights dispute.
The trial that day at the Daejeon High Court began at about 4:03 p.m. and ended at about 5:55 p.m. Earlier, Yun Dong-han had filed an injunction asking the court to prevent Yun Sang-hyun from convening an extraordinary shareholders meeting to appoint executives of Kolmar BNH, but it was dismissed in the first trial. Yun Dong-han appealed the decision, bringing the case to the second trial, where the first hearing was held that day.
Yun Sang-hyun has obtained a court decision allowing him to hold an extraordinary shareholders meeting for Kolmar BNH. If the extraordinary shareholders meeting is actually held, Yun Dong-han's daughter, Yun Yeo-won, CEO of Kolmar BNH, could lose control of management.
In court that day, before his lawyer presented arguments, Yun Dong-han spoke. He introduced himself, saying, "I am Yun Dong-han, the founder who started the company called Kolmar Korea some thirty-some years ago, and I am running that company." He continued, "I did not want to engage in this litigation; the other side led the matter to court first, and I followed along."
However, Yun Dong-han said, "I only hope that all these issues proceed with reasonable judgment and common sense." He concluded his remarks by saying, "That is all." Yun Yeo-won, CEO of Kolmar BNH, also attended the hearing with Yun Dong-han but did not speak separately.
