A Korean woman in her 40s was stabbed to death in a dwellings area in Setagaya, Tokyo.
According to Japan's public broadcaster NHK, a report was received around 1:30 p.m. that "a woman was lying on the ground bleeding" in a street in Setagaya. Police who arrived at the scene found a woman of Korean nationality in her 40s with suspected injuries to her neck.
The victim was immediately transferred to the hospital but was reportedly pronounced dead about one and a half hours later. Police believe a man in his 20s to 30s, wearing a black T-shirt and pants, fled the scene. The police are currently searching for this man on suspicion of murder.
The incident took place near the Komazawa-Daigaku subway station in a dwellings area. Japanese TBS TV reported that the deceased woman was a Korean self-employed individual and that the weapon was not found at the scene.
