It was found that 98.2% of the entire population applied for the people's livelihood recovery consumption coupons. The total aggregates paid to them amount to 9.8 trillion won.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety reported on the 29th that as of the 28th, 49.69 million people, or 98.2% of the total eligible population, have completed their applications for the consumption coupons.
By type of payment, credit and debit cards accounted for the highest number with 34.44 million cases (69.3%). This was followed by local love gift certificates with 9.2 million cases (18.5%) and prepaid cards with 6.06 million cases (12.2%).
The application rate by region was highest in Jeollanam-do at 98.72%, followed by Ulsan (98.68%) and Daegu (98.62%). The area with the lowest application rate was Seoul, which recorded 97.56%.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety also stated that as of the 24th, the usage rate of the consumption coupons issued via credit and debit cards was 78.7%. Out of a total of 5.9715 trillion won, 4.6968 trillion won was spent.
