Kim Keon-hee's special investigation team plans to summon Kweon Seong-dong, a member of the People Power Party, on the 27th, as announced on the 26th.
The special investigation team noted in today's announcement, "Tomorrow (27th), we plan to summon and investigate the member." Kweon also stated that he would attend the special investigation team's inquiry.
Kweon said on his Facebook today, "I have already experienced overcoming the political oppression of the Moon Jae-in administration, and I will surely overcome this targeted purge attempt by the Lee Jae-myung administration as well."
He added, "The path toward justice may be winding and difficult, but it will ultimately lead to the destination of truth."
The special investigation team believes that Kweon received illegal political funds from a former official of the Unification Church concerning the 'Unification Church bribery suspicion.' Previously, the special investigation team arrested and indicted former Deputy Minister Yoon Young-ho for violating political fund laws on the 18th, after it was reported that he personally delivered 100 million won in cash to Kweon.
Additionally, suspicions have been raised that Jeon Seong-bae, the former fortune teller, and Yoon conspired to recruit a large number of Unification Church members to enlist them in the People Power Party ahead of the January 2023 national convention, attempting to make Kweon the party leader.
