The suspect who fled after murdering a woman in her 30s in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, was apprehended by the police within a day.
The Yongin Western Police Station announced that they urgently arrested a man in his 30s, referred to as Mr. A, around 8:56 a.m. on the 22nd in a mountainous area of Hongcheon County, Gangwon Province.
It is reported that a handler of search dogs from the Southern Gyeonggi Police Agency discovered Mr. A, and the Gangwon Provincial Police's criminal mobile unit subsequently arrested him.
The police plan to transport Mr. A from the Gangwon Provincial Police Agency to the Yongin Western Police Station to investigate the details further.
Mr. A is suspected of killing a woman in her 30s, referred to as Ms. B, by stabbing her multiple times with a weapon he had prepared in advance in an underground parking lot of an officetel in Suji District, Yongin City, around 2:40 to 2:50 a.m. the previous day.
About three hours after the incident, around 5:45 a.m., a resident discovered the deceased Ms. B and reported it. The police identified Mr. A as a suspect based on CCTV footage and have been conducting a manhunt.
