Kim Keon-hee is not expected to attend the special prosecutor's investigation on the 23rd. In response, the special prosecutor notified Kim's side to appear again on the 25th at 10 a.m.
A lawyer for Kim's side stated in a media announcement that "Kim Keon-hee plans to submit a notice of absence for health reasons for the investigation tomorrow (23rd)." The special prosecutor had planned to summon Kim on the 23rd for a fourth investigation following her arrest.
After Kim's side expressed their difficulty in attending the investigation on the 23rd, the special prosecutor announced in a media notice that "it has been rescheduled for 10 a.m. on the 25th."
Kim is facing allegations of exerting influence to ensure that former People Power Party lawmaker Kim Young-sun received nomination in that year's parliamentary by-election in exchange for receiving public opinion survey results from a 'political broker,' Myung Tae-kyun, 58 times during the 2022 presidential election with former President Yoon Suk-yeol.
Additionally, she is accused of being involved as a 'money provider' in the Deutsche Motors stock manipulation case that occurred from 2009 to 2012 (violation of the Capital Markets Act) and of receiving high-priced necklaces and other requests related to the church's issues through former monk Jeon Seong-bae (violation of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes).
Meanwhile, Kim attended the special prosecutor's office on the 21st and underwent her third investigation since her arrest. The investigation on the 21st started at around 2:12 p.m. and ended at 5:30 p.m. The review of the records began at 5:58 p.m. and concluded at 6:24 p.m.
