The identity of Jang Hyeong-jun (33), who attempted to kill a woman he had been dating by stabbing her multiple times with a weapon, was made public on 22nd.
The Ulsan District Prosecutor's Office announced that it held a meeting of the Identity Information Disclosure Review Committee and decided to disclose Jang's identity information.
Jang's name, age, and face will be posted on the Ulsan District Prosecutor's Office website for 30 days starting from that day.
Jang is accused of visiting his ex-girlfriend in her 20s and stabbing her multiple times with a weapon on the 28th of last month.
He committed acts of confinement, assault, and stalking against the victim, who had notified him of their breakup, and received a temporary measure from the court prohibiting him from approaching her, yet he still went to her.
Citizens present at the scene restrained Jang and provided first aid.
The victim is currently undergoing treatment after having multiple major surgeries.
The prosecution has detained Jang for attempted murder and referred him to trial.
It is reported that this is the first time the identity of an attempted murder suspect has been disclosed.
