Kim Keon-hee attended a special prosecutor's office on the 21st to undergo her third investigation since being detained.
On that day, Kim arrived at the special prosecutor's office located in the KT Gwanghwamun Building in Jongno District around 1:17 p.m. The investigation regarding the 'Gunjin Law Firm solicitation suspicion' is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
Kim had her third investigation on this day since being detained on the 12th. She appeared before the special prosecutor's office for investigations on the 14th and 18th of this month.
Kim was initially notified of her summons on the 20th but filed a handwritten notice of non-attendance to the special prosecutor's team, stating that it was difficult for her to attend due to health issues, and postponed the schedule by one day.
In previous investigations, the special prosecutor's team investigated suspicions regarding Myung Tae-kyun's intervention in nominations and the Deutsch Motors stock manipulation allegations, but it was reported that Kim refused most of the statements. She is expected to exercise her right to refuse to testify again during this investigation.
Kim, along with former President Yoon Suk-yeol, is accused of exerting influence to have former People Power Party lawmaker Kim Young-sun nominated in that year's National Assembly by receiving the results of opinion polls for free 58 times from 'political broker' Myung Tae-kyun during the 2022 presidential election (violation of the Political Funds Act).
She also faces accusations of being involved as a 'jeonju' (money provider) in the stock manipulation case of Deutsch Motors that occurred from 2009 to 2012 (violation of the Capital Markets Act) and receiving high-priced necklaces and other requests regarding the denomination's current issues from the Unification Church through Jeon Seong-bae of Gunjin Law Firm (violation of the Specific Crimes Aggravated Punishment Act on solicitation).
