A senior firefighter in Incheon is under police investigation for allegedly receiving multiple tickets to a concert by the singer Psy.
The Anti-Corruption and Economic Crime Investigation Division of the Incheon Police Agency stated on the 21st that they are investigating a firefighter, identified as A, belonging to a fire station in Incheon, who has been accused of violating the Act on the Prohibition of Solicitation.
Firefighter A is suspected of having received 80 tickets to the 'Psy Summer Show' held in June at the Asiad Main Stadium in Seo-gu, Incheon.
It is reported that the concert planning company provided the tickets to Firefighter A with the intention of inviting the families of firefighters.
However, it has been determined that Firefighter A did not report to the head of the agency about receiving the tickets from the concert planning company.
The investigation began when a local fire station, which became aware of Firefighter A's illegal circumstances last month, submitted a complaint to the police. The Incheon Fire Department has currently suspended Firefighter A from his position.
A police official stated, 'We are verifying the facts based on the contents of the complaint,' adding, 'It is difficult to disclose specific details about the ongoing investigation.'
