Former national soccer player Song Jong-kook's daughter Song Ji-ah (18) has obtained membership in the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA).
Park Yeon-su recently posted on her Instagram, "When I was in the 5th and 6th grades of elementary school, I attended an agency and wanted to become a golf player, so I entered a golf academy in the first year of middle school."
She continued, "I initially registered as a player and participated in my first tournament at Solago CC. It feels just like yesterday when I shot under 100 that day, but I can't believe I have become a regular member at Solago CC after 6 years."
Park Yeon-su also noted, "We, who have never stood out in results because we couldn't compete, want to leave those worrying and crying times behind and show that we can do well if we have prepared well even if we started late. I'm really grateful to our Song-a-ji (Song Ji-ah) for her hard work. Thank you so much to everyone who helped us."
It seems that Song Ji-ah has passed the KLPGA membership examination. In a photo posted by Park Yeon-su, Song Ji-ah is seen smiling while holding a bouquet and the congratulatory message stating, "Congratulations on becoming a regular member, Pro Song Ji-ah."
Born in 2007, Song Ji-ah gained public attention by appearing with Song Jong-kook on MBC's 'Dad! Where Are You Going?'. After Song Jong-kook and Park Yeon-su divorced, she has been active in golf under Park Yeon-su's guidance.
Meanwhile, the KLPGA grants regular membership to individuals who are Korean nationals, have passed the regular member qualifying examination or meet the criteria for special membership admission, and have completed prescribed training. Eligibility requires applicants to be at least 18 years old, and among those who have passed the preliminary round of the regular member qualifying examination, the top 10 who record up to 222 in the final 54-hole stroke play can obtain regular member status. Becoming a KLPGA regular member allows one to work as a professional golfer.
