Kim's attorney said, "On Thursday (21st), she will have an in-person examination in the morning and appear for the special prosecution investigation at 2 p.m.," on the 19th. She also noted, "She has been almost unable to eat since the detention warrant review, raising health concerns."
Initially, the special prosecution had scheduled the investigation for the 20th. However, Kim wrote and submitted a notice of absence citing health issues to the detention center that day. Subsequently, the special prosecution informed Kim's side to appear on the 21st. Later, Kim's side confirmed that she would attend the investigation on the 21st.
Earlier, Kim was detained on the 12th. The special prosecution applied for a detention warrant on charges of violating the Capital Market Act (allegations of involvement in stock manipulation related to Deutsch Motors), violating the Political Funds Act (allegations of interference in the 2022 and 2024 elections), and charges of receiving bribes under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes (allegations of seeking bribes through a spiritual advisor). The court issued the warrant.
After her detention, Kim was summoned for questioning by the special prosecution on the 14th and 18th. The scheduled investigation on the 21st will be her third since her detention.
