On the 10th anniversary of their appointment, police officers holding a reunion moved in unison to save a citizen's life.
On the 18th, the Seoul Police released a video titled 'On the day they marked their 10th year as police officers, the reason they rushed out while eating' on their official YouTube channel.
The video began with men entering a jokbal restaurant in Gangnam, Seoul, while saluting.
The men, who were police officers from the 282nd class of the Central Police Academy, gathered that day to celebrate their 10th anniversary.
While they were enjoying their meal, a woman suddenly rushed in through the restaurant door and asked them, 'Do you know how to perform CPR?'
Without hesitation, they all got up from their seats and followed the woman, confirming that an elderly man had collapsed.
One person immediately began performing CPR, while another was seen securing a call to 119 and praying.
Another person ran to a nearby subway station, jumped over the turnstile, and brought back an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Fortunately, it wasn't long before the elderly man's breathing and consciousness returned, and he was reported to have recovered his health after being transported to the hospital for treatment.
Despite the sudden situation, those who divided roles and attempted to rescue lives were Officer Lee Hu-seok and Officer Jo Han-sol from the Seoul Suseo Police Station, Officer Jeong Yong-jin from the Jungnang Police Station, and Officer Kwon Du-seong from Wonju Police Station, Gangwon.
They stated, 'Even after 10 years, the sense of mission we had when we first became police officers has not changed at all,' and added, 'We will continue to be police officers who are always by the citizens' side.'
