On the 19th, Jung-gu will promote the designation of the honorary road name 'Iseungshin-gil' for the 766-meter section from Euljiro 3-ga Station on subway lines 2 and 3 to Namsangol Hanok Village.
According to Jung-gu on the 19th, the section designated as the honorary road name 'Iseungshin-gil' is part of Chungmuro and Toegye-ro 34-gil. The duration of use is five years from the date of designation.
Previously, Jung-gu conducted a preference survey for honorary road names targeting residents and others interested in the area from late June to early July. The candidates were ▲Iseungshin-gil ▲Boy Iseungshin-gil ▲Iseungshin Dream Road ▲Hero Iseungshin-gil, of which 'Iseungshin-gil' received 41% of the responses and won first place.
Jung-gu plans to finalize the designation of honorary road names after deliberation by the Jung-gu address information committee in September. Afterward, honorary road name signs and autonomous building number signs will be produced and attached at the starting and ending points of Iseungshin-gil.
Jung-gu is recently promoting the fact that it is the birthplace of General Iseungshin. A monument indicating General Iseungshin's birthplace is located in front of Myungbo Art Hall and Inhyeon-dong Shin Do Building. The honorary road name 'Iseungshin-gil' that Jung-gu is promoting is adjacent to the birthplace. The training center park located on Euljiro is where General Iseungshin passed the military examination.
