Actor Choi Jeong-won, from the duo group UN, was confirmed to have received an emergency protective order from the court due to stalking allegations.
The Central Seoul Police Station booked Choi Jeong-won on charges of stalking after he allegedly visited the home of a woman he knew with a dangerous weapon on the 16th.
The police took safety measures to protect the victim and applied for a post-emergency protective order concerning Choi Jeong-won's stalking behavior.
Consequently, the Seoul Central District Court approved the emergency protective order on the 18th, stating, "The matter is urgent and it is necessary to prevent the stalking behavior from occurring repeatedly and continuously."
As a result of this measure, Choi Jeong-won is prohibited from approaching the victim within 100 meters and from contacting her via mobile phone or other telecommunications. Violation may result in imprisonment for up to one year or a fine of up to 10 million won.
The police are currently known to be investigating the specific circumstances of Choi Jeong-won's alleged offenses.
Previously, Choi Jeong-won was also accused of being a homewrecker. A person surnamed A claimed that from December 2022, Choi Jeong-won had an inappropriate relationship with his wife and pinpointed Choi Jeong-won as the homewrecker in February 2023, filing a lawsuit for damages amounting to 100 million won.
However, Choi Jeong-won rebutted, stating that he was "used in the divorce of person A and his spouse," and has continued the legal battle by filing a complaint with the police for defamation.
