Kim Keon-hee, the wife of former President Yoon Suk-yeol, submitted a handwritten notice stating that she would not appear for the special investigation on the 20th. It was reported that Kim said, "My health is very poor," and requested to receive in-person medical treatment from a doctor at the Seoul Southern Detention Center, where she is currently incarcerated.
Earlier, Kim was arrested on the 12th. The special investigation team applied for an arrest warrant on charges of violating the Capital Markets Act (involvement in price manipulation of Deutsch Motors), violating the Political Funds Act (allegations of interference in the 2022 and 2024 elections), and bribery-related charges under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes (allegations of bribery solicitation related to the Unification Church through Geonjin Legal Services). The court issued the warrant.
After her arrest, Kim was summoned for questioning by the special investigation team on the 14th and 18th. The special investigation team notified Kim that an additional investigation would take place on the morning of the 20th. In this regard, it was reported that she submitted a handwritten notice of her absence on that day. A special investigation official stated, "We received a notice through her attorney that said, 'My health is very poor, so I cannot participate in the investigation on the 20th.'" The official added, "We plan to reschedule the summons for Thursday (21st) and issue a new summons request."
