Law firm Barun announced on the 18th that it has launched a corporations strategy research center.
The corporations strategy research center will operate an "issue-linked response advisory package" to enable corporations to respond flexibly to ESG issues. The plan is to assist corporations in responding to regulatory risks in the areas of environment (E), society (S), and governance (G) and to manage these systematically.
Barun has recruited Doctor Lee Jun-hee, who laid the foundation for ESG services at the law firm Jiphyeon, to lead the operation of the research center. Doctor Lee will concurrently serve as the director of the corporations strategy research center and the head of the ESG management consulting center under the research center, aiming to expand Barun's synergistic management advisory and consulting services. In addition to Doctor Lee, the center has also welcomed expert committee members and practical consultants who have worked on ESG tasks at Jiphyeon.
Barun plans to integrate a wealth of experience and know-how by recruiting experts to provide comprehensive support for enhancing corporate value, including △establishing data-driven ESG management systems, △responding to climate and energy challenges and implementing carbon reduction, △upgrading risk and compliance management, △integrated management of overseas production subsidiaries, and △developing roadmaps for addressing non-financial management issues.
Lee Dong-hoon, Barun's representative attorney, noted, "Doctor Lee Jun-hee, who possesses accumulated expertise in the ESG field and extensive management advisory and consulting experience based on accounting and legal knowledge, has joined the research center along with a group of expert consultants," adding, "Barun will serve as a leading law firm that provides practical solutions to the difficulties faced in corporate management beyond regulations and laws."
