The Korean Public Relations Association announced on the 18th that it will hold the "Drawing a Sustainable Future: 2025 Korea CSR×ESG Conference" on the 22nd at the Grand Ballroom of the Mondrian Hotel in Itaewon, Seoul, in collaboration with the Chinese University of Hong Kong, featuring PR experts.
This international conference has been organized to seek future strategies in a rapidly changing business environment as corporate social responsibility (CSR) and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) have established themselves as key indicators for global sustainable growth.
Scholars and experts from Korea, Hong Kong, and the United States will participate as discussants in this conference. Additionally, more than 120 researchers, including practitioners in PR, CSR, and ESG, as well as government and public sector professionals, are expected to attend.
The conference will address timely challenges faced by modern society and corporations in depth. Topics such as authentic ESG reporting and narrative strategies beyond regulations, integration of sustainability in the production to consumption process, and unique practical cases of sustainability in the entertainment industry will be discussed.
In the academic sessions, the depth of scholarship will be enhanced through presentations by each research team. Professor Kim Jang-hyun of Sungkyunkwan University will present ways to improve the objectivity of ESG performance measurement through his research on "Deep Learning-Based ESG Quantification." Professor Son Hyun-sang from the University of New Mexico will present a study on the "Practical Impact of ESG Communication" analyzing big data from Interbrand's Global 100 Brands. Professor Jo Soo-young from Kyunghee University plans to provide a new perspective on the future of corporate social advocacy (CSA) activities and the social role of corporations.
In the industry sessions, there will be sharing of innovation cases from corporations and international practical discussions. Cheon Seong-hyeon, a researcher at the POSCO Management Research Institute, will share POSCO's strategy and vision in a keynote speech titled "ESG Management Adding Value to the World." Kakao's leader Seo Eun-hee will present strategies and practical activities regarding "Inclusive AI Literacy Education," while YG Entertainment's director Ha Hye-ryeong will present a case on "Sustainable Performances" that showcases the future of K-Pop in the global market.
Yoo Seon-wook, president of the Korean Public Relations Association (professor at the Hankyong National University), noted, "I hope this event will serve as a platform for deep discussions that connect the latest academic research with vivid examples from the industry to outline the direction for CSR and ESG in Korea."
Director Kim So-ra of the CSRCom & Sustainability Hub at the Chinese University of Hong Kong said, "CSR and ESG are now core issues for sustainability in society as a whole, beyond individual corporations," and added, "Through this conference, we will seek communication strategies that drive practical social change by sharing global trends and leading activities in Asia with Korean experts."
