Since the 13th, heavy rain has been falling in the metropolitan area, and heavy rain will continue mainly in southern Gyeonggi and the Chungcheong region until late afternoon on the 14th (3 p.m. to 6 p.m.).
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, as of 10 a.m. that day, there were places in the Chungnam area experiencing heavy rain of 10 to 30 mm per hour accompanied by gusts and thunder, while the metropolitan area and Gangwon Province had rain falling at a rate of 5 to 10 mm per hour. Heavy rain warnings are in effect for southern Gyeonggi, Chungnam, and some regions of Gangwon.
It is expected that strong rain clouds, which are long from east to west and narrow from north to south, will develop in the central region that day. Even within the same city or county, there will be significant differences in precipitation, with heavy rainfall in some areas while others experience calm conditions.
The expected precipitation for that day is 30 to 80 mm in southern Gyeonggi, 20 to 60 mm in Seoul, Incheon, and northern Gyeonggi, 5 to 20 mm in the five islands of the West Sea, 20 to 60 mm in the inland and mountainous areas of central and southern Gangwon, 5 to 20 mm in the inland and mountainous areas of northern Gangwon, and 5 to 10 mm on the east coast of Gangwon. South Chungnam, excluding Sejong and the southeast, will receive 20 to 60 mm of rain, with some areas experiencing more than 80 mm of heavy rain. Daejeon and southeastern Chungnam will receive 5 to 40 mm.
From midnight the previous day to 10 a.m. that day, the cumulative rainfall was 317.5 mm in Paju, Gyeonggi, 289.6 mm in Deokjeokbuk-ri, Ongjin-gun, Incheon, 219.9 mm in Incheon, 174.3 mm in Seoul, 230 mm in Dongsong, Cheorwon, Gangwon, 227.9 mm in Cheorwon, 106.7 mm in Chuncheon, 120.5 mm in Geunheung, Taean, Chungnam, 101 mm in Taean, and 61 mm in Hongseong.
