Kim Keon-hee reportedly said on the 14th, 'Will I be able to live with my husband again, will we be able to meet again?' according to her lawyer speaking to the media.
Yoo Jeong-hwa, a lawyer representing Kim Keon-hee, noted on that day during a break in the special prosecutor's questioning that Kim had said this to her lawyers.
Regarding the allegations of illegal election interference, the special prosecutor stated that Kim said she had left comments implying that she did not give instructions related to Myung Tae-gyun.
Kim is accused of helping former People Power Party lawmaker Kim Young-sun secure a nomination in the Changwon district during the 2022 by-election. The special prosecutor suspects that Yoon Suk-yeol and Kim received about 318 million won worth of election-related opinion polls for free from Myung and former lawmaker Kim during the 2022 presidential election process.
Additionally, lawyer Yoo Jeong-hwa said regarding Kim's health, 'Her condition is not good, so a face-to-face medical examination is scheduled for next week.'
The special prosecutor announced that Kim's first questioning after her arrest, which began that morning, ended after approximately four hours. They stated, 'We investigated allegations of illegal election interference and nomination interference from 9:56 a.m.,' adding, 'The morning questioning was completed at 11:27 a.m., and we resumed questioning at 1:32 p.m., finishing the afternoon session at 2:10 p.m.'
Meanwhile, the special prosecutor reported that during the questioning on that day, Kim exercised her right to remain silent regarding most of the charges.
The special prosecutor plans to summon Kim again on the 18th for further questioning. However, Kim's side has indicated that they will decide whether to appear after a lawyer meeting at 10:30 a.m. on the 18th.
