Actor Ahn Jae-wook (54) has captured attention at a state dinner attended by President Lee Jae-myung and key figures from politics and industry.
President Lee Jae-myung hosted a state dinner at the Blue House on the 11th, inviting Secretary General Lum of the Communist Party of Vietnam, who was visiting Korea.
The dinner was attended by many prominent figures from politics and business, including President Lee and his spouse, Chung Eui-sun, chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, Koo Kwang-mo, chairman of LG Group, Kim Yong-beom, the head of the presidential policy office, and Kim Tae-nyeon, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea.
Additionally, 66 individuals from academia, culture, and sports, including former national soccer team coach Park Hang-seo, who received labor and gratitude medals from the Vietnamese government, were also present.
Among them, actor Ahn Jae-wook attracted attention by sitting at the same table as President Lee Jae-myung. Ahn's appearance in a neat dark blue suit, wearing a solemn expression, was also captured on the broadcast screen.
Ahn Jae-wook is an actor who gained immense popularity in Vietnam. He received great acclaim in Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, through dramas such as 'Star in My Heart,' which aired in 1997.
In particular, Ahn Jae-wook's film 'The Righteous Thief,' which became a sensational hit in Vietnam in 2001, solidified his status as a 'first-generation Hallyu star.' His attendance at the dinner is interpreted as having an impact on cultural exchange between the two countries due to his influence as an actor.
From the Vietnamese side, 55 people attended the dinner, including Secretary General Lum and his spouse, First Lady Ngo Phuong Ly, Nguyen Duy Ngoc, head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, and the Ministers of the Ministry of Public Security and Ministry of National Defense.
On this day, President Lee delivered a toast, saying, 'Our Korea, which achieved the Miracle of the Han River, is the optimal partner for Vietnam, which is achieving the Miracle of the Hong River,' expressing the willingness to develop relations between the two countries.
