Police have launched an investigation related to a note left at an apartment in Gwangju that reads, 'If you put a parking violation sticker, I will stab you with a weapon.'
On the 12th, the Gwangju Western Police Station is investigating an incident in which a threatening note was attached to the windshield of a parked vehicle in an apartment complex in the Hwajeong-dong area of Gwangju. The police learned of the situation through a report to the National Police Agency and are reportedly considering applying charges of public intimidation.
Public intimidation is punishable by up to five years in prison or a fine of up to 20 million won if it involves threats of harm to unspecified individuals or the public.
Previously, the incident became known when a photo of the note was posted on an online community on the 7th. The note attached to the front windshield of the vehicle says, 'If you put a sticker, I will come and stab your stomach with a knife.'
The author wrote, 'This is a message on a car in an apartment with over 2,000 units. The allowed parking time is from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m., and the person was angry about the violation sticker being put on. It seems there is a panic in the apartment's group chat about this.'
However, it is reported that the owner of the vehicle with the note claims, 'I did not put it on.'
