A father in his 50s was charged after sexually assaulting his biological daughter and causing her pregnancy.
On the 11th, the Criminal Division of the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office, led by Director General Jeong Woo-seok, stated that they had arrested and indicted Mr. A on charges of violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes (rape by a family member).
Mr. A is accused of raping his biological daughter, Ms. B, at their residence and other locations on two occasions, in July 2021 and March of this year. It is understood that Mr. A was a minor at the time of the crime in 2021.
The crime was uncovered when Ms. B visited a hospital for a pregnancy test. At that time, Ms. B reportedly mentioned that she had been harmed by her father, which led the hospital to notify the police.
Subsequently, the investigation agency confirmed the biological relationship between Mr. A and the fetus through DNA tests. It is reported that Mr. A confessed to the crime during the investigation.
