Kim Keon-hee's special prosecutor's office is conducting a search and seizure of SEOHEE CONSTRUCTION on the 11th regarding the 'luxury necklace delivery suspicion.'
The special prosecutor's office noted on the morning of the same day, "We have begun a search and seizure of SEOHEE CONSTRUCTION related to the ongoing investigation."
The special prosecutor's office suspects that SEOHEE CONSTRUCTION purchased a 'Van Cleef & Arpels' necklace worth around 60 million won for the purpose of solicitation and gifted it to Mrs. Kim.
This necklace is a 'Snowflake Pendant' product released by Van Cleef & Arpels in 2015. The special prosecutor's office has reportedly confirmed that SEOHEE CONSTRUCTION purchased the same model that Mrs. Kim wore during her NATO trip in June 2022 on March 9, 2022.
Park Seong-geun, the son-in-law of SEOHEE CONSTRUCTION Chairman Lee Bong-kwan, was appointed as the chief of staff to the Prime Minister's Office of the Yoon Suk-yeol government in 2022. The special prosecutor's office is investigating whether SEOHEE CONSTRUCTION provided the necklace to Mrs. Kim in exchange for the chief of staff position.
The special prosecutor's office secured a replica of the Van Cleef necklace presumed to have been worn by Mrs. Kim in 2022 at the house of Mrs. Kim's brother-in-law, Kim Jin-woo, last month. It has been reported that the special prosecutor's office obtained a statement from Mrs. Kim that she gifted a replica necklace to her mother around 2010.
However, the special prosecutor's office is said to have received a response from Van Cleef stating that the original release date of the necklace was in 2015. Since it is impossible to purchase a replica before the original was released, questions arise about the possibility that Mrs. Kim may have 'swapped' the products.
