A couple in their 20s has been arrested by the police for causing the death of their 2-month-old newborn in Mokpo, South Jeolla Province.
On the 11th, the South Jeolla Province Police Agency reported that they had urgently arrested the couple on charges of child abuse leading to death and concealment of a corpse.
They are accused of failing to properly care for the newborn while staying at a lodging facility in Mokpo for an extended period.
Police believe that their failure to provide proper nutrition, such as formula, led to the newborn's death.
It has been revealed that they left the body of the newborn, presumed to have died about two weeks ago, in their room at the lodging facility.
The police plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the incident involving them.
