Son Heung-min's debut in Major League Soccer (MLS) is imminent.
Son Heung-min was included in the substitute list for LAFC, which will play an away game against Chicago Fire in the 27th round of the 2025 MLS at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois, at 9:30 a.m. on the 10th.
In a press conference for his signing with LAFC on the 7th, Son Heung-min said, "Since I have had a good preseason, I don't think you need to worry about my physical condition," adding, "I want to greet everyone on the field as soon as possible."
Son Heung-min left Tottenham Hotspur, where he had spent the last 10 years in the English Premier League, and signed with LAFC for a record transfer fee of up to $26.5 million (approximately 36.9 billion won).
The contract also includes provisions for him to be a Designated Player until 2027, which means he will not be subject to the salary cap. Additionally, there are options to extend the contract twice until June 2028 and June 2029.
LAFC is currently 6th in the Western Conference with 36 points. The opposing team, Chicago, is 9th in the Eastern Conference with 35 points, having gone unbeaten in their last three matches (2 wins, 1 draw).
