Actor Jo Jin-woong, 49, appeared on broadcaster Kim Eo-jun's, 57, YouTube channel. This was a full-fledged promotion ahead of the documentary film 'Independence Army: The Unfinished War' release.
On the morning of the 6th, Jo Jin-woong appeared on the YouTube channel 'Kim Eo-jun's Humility is Hard News Factory' along with Park Hong-geun, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea and the chairman of the Hong Beom-do General Memorial Project Association.
This is his second appearance on Kim Eo-jun's broadcast. Previously, Jo Jin-woong appeared on Kim Eo-jun's TBS radio program in 2019 to promote the film 'Black Money'.
The film 'Independence Army: The Unfinished War', narrated by Jo Jin-woong, highlights the life of Hong Beom-do, the commander of the Korean Independence Army, and sheds light on the history of Korea's armed independence movements.
Park Hong-geun noted that the film 'Founding War', which highlights the life of the late former President Rhee Syng-man, attracted 1.17 million viewers and stated, "It's the 80th anniversary of liberation, and this film should surpass that."
In response, Jo Jin-woong said, "I don't know what significance that movie ('Founding War') holds, but this film carries the fundamental reasons for independence." He added, "Regardless of left or right, this is something all citizens should be aware of."
In response to Jo Jin-woong's remarks, Kim Eo-jun said, "That's implying you're not satisfied with 1 million viewers," to which Jo Jin-woong replied, "That's right. I believe that all citizens of Korea should be aware of this and recognize its importance."
Park Hong-geun shared that Jo Jin-woong visits Hyochang Park, where the tomb of Kim Gu is located, every year since appearing in the film 'Master Kim Chang-soo'.
Jo Jin-woong said, "The movie helped me understand Kim Gu more deeply," and added, "I used to live on Baekbeom Road, but I didn't know it was that Baekbeom Road," reflecting on his past ignorance of history.
The film 'Independence Army: The Unfinished War', co-produced by the Korean Liberation Association and the Hong Beom-do General Memorial Project Association, is scheduled to be released in theaters on the 13th.
