A woman wielded a knife at police officers, requesting them to handle her case first, while the incident was being reported at the police station.
The Seoul Yeongdeungpo Police Station announced on the 5th that they have arrested a woman in her 30s, identified as Ms. A, on charges of obstructing official duties with violence.
Ms. A is accused of taking out a pre-prepared folding knife and wielding it at police officers around 7:40 p.m. on the 4th while reporting a theft case at the Seoul Yeongdeungpo Police Station. She is said to have committed the act demanding that her case be addressed first.
During this process, one police officer was stabbed in the abdomen, and two other officers who tried to subdue Ms. A also sustained injuries to their hands. All of them were transported to the hospital and are reported not to be in serious condition.
The police plan to apply for a warrant for Ms. A's arrest.
