The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 4th that it will operate a 'free shuttle bus' between subway stations and ferry terminals ahead of the official operation of the Han River bus next month.
The shuttle bus will operate from this month, circulating from nearby subway stations in Magok and Jamsil to the stops closer to the ferry terminal. The bus frequency will be every 15 to 30 minutes.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to conduct a pilot operation of the shuttle bus in accordance with the boarding days and times of the ongoing Han River bus citizen experience operation. After the Han River bus officially begins its service, it is expected to operate during commuting hours from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The shuttle bus will be deployed at the Jamsil ferry terminal starting from the 5th, transporting leisure tourism experience groups and commuting experience groups. It will operate in a circular route starting from the Jamsilsaenae Interchange near the ferry terminal, passing through Jamsilsaenae Station on Line 2 and Sports Complex Station on Lines 2 and 9, and circulating around the Jamsil Els Apartment complex.
Starting from the 12th, it will operate for commuting experience groups departing from the Magok ferry terminal. Two shuttle buses will turn around at the Gayang Interchange near the ferry terminal, running between Yangcheonhyanggyo Station on Line 9 and Balsan Station on Line 5.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to also operate a shuttle bus for the Apgujeong ferry terminal starting in September when the Han River bus officially begins service. This shuttle bus will run round trip from Sinsa Interchange to Apgujeong Station on Line 3.
Park Jin-Young, head of the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Future Han River Department, said, "We will do our best to provide a stable operation service so that the Han River bus can become a new public transport icon representing Seoul."
