An employee of NongHyup in Pocheon, who is accused of invading a customer's home, threatening with a weapon, and stealing valuables, has been transferred to the prosecution while in custody.
On the 4th, the Pocheon police stated that they had transferred an employee of NongHyup, who committed robbery by breaking into a customer's home, to the prosecution. However, the motive for the crime has not yet been clearly established, so further investigation regarding this matter will continue.
A man in his 30s, referred to as Mr. A, who is facing charges of robbery causing injury, allegedly broke into an apartment on the third floor in Eoryong-dong, Pocheon, around 4 a.m. on the 28th of last month, threatened an elderly couple in their 80s with a weapon, and stole 20 million won worth of cash and valuables.
In Mr. A's bag, which was found at the NongHyup branch located in Pocheon, where he works, gold valued at 70 don was discovered, and the cash amounting to 20 million won was reportedly deposited into Mr. A's own account.
A police official noted, "It is clear that he needed money, but further investigation is necessary to determine the specific motive," adding, "We are requesting and reviewing related materials such as financial transactions."
Mr. A was reportedly in debt to the extent of having to repay several million won each month at the time of the crime. There will be additional investigations into the exact amount of debt, the circumstances that led to the debt, and whether he was under pressure regarding the debt.
