Gyeonggi Province announced on the 1st that it has finalized the bus fare increase plan.
According to the bus fare increase plan finalized through a review by the Consumer Policy Committee on the 31st of last month, the fare for regular city buses will rise by 200 won, increasing from 1,450 won to 1,650 won based on the transportation card. The fare for seated buses will also increase by 200 won, rising from 2,450 won to 2,650 won.
Direct seated (metropolitan) and Gyeonggi circular buses will each increase by 400 won. The direct seated fare will rise from 2,800 won to 3,200 won, while the Gyeonggi circular fare will increase from 3,050 won to 3,450 won.
Cash fares will be raised from 1,500 won to 1,700 won for regular buses, from 2,500 won to 2,700 won for seated buses, from 2,900 won to 3,300 won for direct seated buses, and from 3,100 won to 3,500 won for Gyeonggi circular buses.
The bus fare increase plan for Gyeonggi Province will be finalized once the governor approves it. Even if the fare increase plan is finalized, procedures for administrative processing by cities and counties and system changes, such as for transportation cards, must be followed. Actual implementation is expected as early as October.
In the case of direct seated buses, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has decided to determine the extent and timing of the fare increase.
