In Ganghwa Island, Incheon, a woman was arrested by police on suspicion of attempting to kill her husband by severing a vital part of his body. Evidence has emerged that her son-in-law was involved in the crime by restraining the victim at the scene.
According to a report by Yonhap News on the 1st, the Incheon Ganghwa Police Station stated that it has urgently arrested A (57, female) on charges of attempted murder. The police also urgently arrested a 30-something man, B, on charges of attempted murder of a family member.
A is suspected of attempting to kill her husband, C (in his 50s), by cutting a vital part of his body with a weapon around 1 a.m. at a cafe in Ganghwa County. B, the son-in-law who was at the crime scene at the time, is suspected of participating in A's attempted murder by restraining C.
A has reportedly claimed during police interrogation that she acted out of suspicion of her husband's infidelity. The police plan to investigate whether A's daughter was also involved in the crime.
Husband C has been taken to the hospital by the 119 emergency rescue team who responded to the report, and he is said to be undergoing surgery with no life-threatening injuries.
The cafe where the crime took place has been identified as C's residence, and it is understood that only the two suspects and C were present inside at the time of the incident.
A police official noted, "B currently denies the charges," adding, "We plan to investigate the specifics of the incident as soon as the victim receives treatment."
