Doctor Jeong Hee-won (40), who has been active in broadcast activities, YouTube, and published works, has transformed into a public servant in Seoul, known as the 'low-speed aging teacher.'
On the 31st, the Seoul city government announced it will introduce a 'Seoul Health Coordinator' to reflect a health perspective across all policies and appointed former Professor Jeong Hee-won of the Geriatrics Department at Seoul Asan Medical Center as the first health coordinator.
The health coordinator will be responsible for reviewing the policy formulation and implementation processes from the perspective of 'citizen health' and proposing policies.
The health coordinator will advise on the discovery and improvement of health-related policies throughout the city government, policies regarding health management and promotion across the life cycle, welfare policies supporting vulnerable groups, and strategies for creating a sustainable and healthy environment.
The Seoul city government expects that the health coordinator's expertise and ideas will enhance the completeness and effectiveness of policies such as 'Wrist Doctor 9988' and 'Less Aggressive Project.'
Doctor Jeong graduated from Seoul National University and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). Until recently, he served as a professor in the Geriatrics Department at Seoul Asan Medical Center.
He is currently working to raise public awareness of healthy living through 'low-speed aging,' 'self-care,' and 'preventive caregiving' targeted at the entire nation. His publications include 'Habits for Aging Slowly' and 'Low-Speed Aging Meal Methods.' He operates a YouTube channel, 'Jeong Hee-won's Low-Speed Aging,' which has 510,000 subscribers.
