A Chinese man who lived with a woman in Gari Bong-dong, Guro-gu, Seoul, has been arrested by police for stabbing her to death.
The Guro Police Station in Seoul stated on the 31st that they arrested a 60-year-old Chinese national, referred to as Mr. A, in the act for the charge of murder for stabbing his cohabiting partner.
Mr. A is suspected of having stabbed a woman in her 50s multiple times with a knife around 3:20 a.m. at their home in Guro-gu. The victim was transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest but later died.
Mr. A reportedly stated to the police that 'the victim attacked him first after he announced their breakup.'
It has been confirmed that the victim had reported Mr. A twice in the past. In 2023, she reported that 'she had fallen and broken her leg,' but police investigations revealed that Mr. A had assaulted her, resulting in a fine.
Just five days prior to her murder, on the 26th, the victim reported Mr. A; however, she reportedly lost contact immediately afterward. The police closed the case the following day after the victim stated, 'She had a verbal argument with her husband but they resolved it and she just slept.'
