The special investigation team plans to summon Myung as a suspect for bribery and violations of the Political Fund Act.
Myung is suspected of having provided free public opinion polling to former President Yoon Suk-yeol and his wife during the last presidential election, and for helping former lawmaker Kim Young-sun secure a nomination in the 2022 by-election in return.
The special investigation team believes that former President Yoon's side gained financial benefits by not paying for the polling expenses. Accordingly, the special investigation team applied bribery charges against the couple for former President Yoon and bribery providing charges against Myung.
Earlier, the special investigation team notified Myung on the 21st to appear on the 28th, but Myung's side did not comply. At that time, Myung's side said, 'It is difficult to attend on the 28th that the special investigation team notified due to the attorney's schedule,' and refused to receive the summons.
