A mother who placed her young son in the driver's seat while driving and took a photo has sparked controversy. She uploaded the photo herself to a mom café and is facing public backlash.
On the 29th, the content of a post titled "He loves holding the steering wheel so much" that was uploaded on the 26th in a mom café with 3 million members was shared across several online communities. The author noted, "Maybe because he's a boy, he goes crazy whenever he sees the steering wheel," and added, "I let him sit for a moment at a red light. I can't wait for him to grow up and be my driver," along with a photo.
The photo shows a child, appearing to be in the early elementary school years, holding the steering wheel. Given that the traffic light is red and the speedometer shows 0 km/h, it is inferred to be in a stopped condition. However, the gear of the vehicle was in D.
According to Article 39 of the Road Traffic Act, drivers of vehicles must not operate driving devices while holding infants. Violating this rule can result in fines.
This post, which has faced criticism among mom café members, spread through various online communities, causing controversy. Reactions included comments such as, "It's too dangerous," "If an accident happens, my son would become the airbag," and "For any reason, a child must never be placed in the driver's seat."
As the controversy spread, the author deleted the original post.
