An accident occurred at Daejeon Hanwha Life Ballpark, the home stadium of the Hanwha Eagles, where one side of the bolt at the sign's consolidation connection fell off.
The Hanwha team stated on the 28th that one side of the bolt fastening area of the wall-mounted sign near first base had fallen off, but fortunately, there were no casualties.
The separation occurred around 5:17 p.m. on the 27th. Starting at 6 p.m. that day, a game was held between SSG Landers and Hanwha, with 17,000 spectators present, making it an accident that could have led to casualties.
The team noted, "After on-site measures, the construction firm, Kyeryong Construction, conducted a thorough inspection of the same type of signs," adding, "After the game on the 27th, Daejeon City and the construction firm completed the on-site inspection, and from the 28th, reinforcement wiring work will be completed before the start of the game on the 29th." Daejeon Hanwha Life Ballpark opened this year as Hanwha's home stadium.
In March, an incident occurred at NC Park in Changwon, Gyeongnam, where a fixture inside the stadium fell, resulting in the death of one baseball fan and injuries to two others. As a result of this incident, NC Park in Changwon did not host any games for about two months until May.
