Amid the ongoing heat wave, residents are experiencing inconvenience due to power outages in various places in the metropolitan area.
At around 8:32 p.m. on the 27th, power was cut off at an apartment complex in Dongchun-dong, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon. The power outage has caused great inconvenience for 1,440 households in 41 apartment buildings, who cannot use air conditioning and other cooling devices amidst the heat.
The apartment management is conducting emergency restoration work, as there appears to be a problem with the transformer in the complex. A representative from the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) said, "The apartment management is replacing and repairing the transformer, but power supply has not yet been restored to over 700 households," adding that "we are providing support for the restoration on site."
Earlier that day, at around 6 a.m., power outages occurred for a time at three apartment complexes in Dongtan New Town, Hwaseong, leaving four residents trapped in an elevator before they were rescued.
