A fire occurred at an apartment model house in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province.
According to the fire authorities, the fire broke out around 12:10 a.m. on the 27th at the apartment model house located in Gwonseon-dong, Gwonseon-gu, Suwon. No injuries were reported, but the entire building of the model house was burned.
The fire authorities issued a Level 1 response at 12:19 a.m. and mobilized 45 pieces of equipment and 120 personnel to conduct firefighting operations. They lifted the response level at 1:37 a.m. and brought the major flames under control by 2:56 a.m. Currently, the process of extinguishing remaining embers is underway.
The model house is a wooden structure three stories high with a total floor area of 5,059 square meters. Demolition work has been ongoing since the 21st, and it is reported that the demolition contractor removed internal wooden frames and outdoor facilities by 5 p.m. the previous day.
The city of Suwon informed through two disaster text messages that "Due to the fire occurring at a building in Gwonseon-dong, Gwonseon-gu at 12:10 a.m., traffic in all directions at the terminal intersection is expected to be restricted. Please detour."
The fire authorities plan to investigate the detailed circumstances of the fire as soon as they extinguish it completely.
