A commotion occurred in the nearby area due to a water main burst in Ahyeon-dong, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul.
According to the Seoul city government and others on the 26th, a water main burst around a construction site in Ahyeon-dong at about 8 a.m. that day. The incident caused water to flow out, resulting in some soil erosion. There were no casualties or property damage.
The affected water main was 20 cm in diameter and was installed in 1983. Due to aging, about 10 cm of it burst, causing leakage. The city government began restoration work, and as a result of valve adjustments for this, approximately 450 households in the vicinity temporarily experienced water supply suspension. To reduce inconvenience to residents due to the water outage, five water supply vehicles and about 7,200 bottles of Arisu bottled water (2L each) were urgently provided.
After the restoration work, the city government conducted cleaning and water quality tests. No special issues were found, so normal water supply was resumed around 7:35 p.m.
