Five days after the application for the 'livelihood recovery consumption coupon' began, 72% of the total eligible participants have completed their applications.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 26th that a total of 36,425,598 people applied during the first application period for the consumption coupon (July 21-25). This accounts for 72.0% of the total eligible recipients (50,607,067 people). The total amount distributed was calculated to be 6.57 trillion won.
The most commonly distributed form was credit and debit cards, which were chosen by 26,965,69 people. Other forms included prepaid cards with 3,216,232 people, local love gift certificates (mobile and card) with 5,646,922 people, and paper gift certificates with 601,875 people.
By region, Incheon recorded the highest application rate at 77.0%, while Seoul showed an average level at 72.1%. The area with the lowest application rate was Jeollanam-do, where 66.1% of the total eligible participants applied.
