On the 20th, the content reported by the victim's wife, who witnessed a case in which a man in his 60s, surnamed Cho, shot and killed his son with a homemade gun in an apartment in Songdo, Incheon, was made public on the 25th.
According to the 'recording transcript of the Incheon Songdo homemade gun murder case' obtained by the office of Democratic Party of Korea lawmaker Yoon Geon-young, the 112 emergency call for this incident was received at 9:31 p.m. on the 20th. The call between the victim's wife and the police lasted for a total of three times over nine minutes.
The wife reported, "Please help. Please help. This is apartment ○dong ○ho," she stated. She then said, "Someone shot a gun. My husband has been shot, so please come quickly."
When the police officer who received the report asked, "What is happening with your husband?" the wife seemed flustered and could not answer. She then told those who seemed to be children, "Quickly go inside. Quickly go into the room."
When the officer asked where he was shot, the wife said, "He got shot in the stomach. There are kids here. Please hurry. Please call an ambulance."
The wife hung up the phone and immediately called 112 again, saying, "My husband is bleeding a lot, and my father is outside with a gun. (My husband) is moaning and has collapsed." When the officer asked, "Are you hiding with the kids in the room?" the wife responded, "Yes, yes."
The officer asked about Mr. A's location, saying, "The police are on their way, but can you open the front door from inside the room?" The wife replied, "I will open it. I opened the door." The officer then confirmed the apartment number again and asked, "(The police) should be coming up. I'm looking at the map right now. Can you still hear your husband moaning?"
When the officer said, "You can hear the radio now, right? I'm currently relaying information via the radio," the wife asked, "I can't hear any sounds from outside. When will you come up? What floor are you on?" The officer replied, "I'm on my way up, but I don't know the floor number."
The wife mentioned, "There is another way into our house besides the front door, through the terrace. You have to climb the ladder." The officer responded, "I will have the officer on-site call you. Please answer the phone immediately," and then hung up.
However, the phone call did not come immediately, and Ms. A contacted 112 again, saying, "Nobody is calling. Please come quickly." The wife then said, "Please call quickly," and added, "What if my husband dies? Please call quickly."
The police reportedly did not immediately enter the crime scene. Consequently, a resident from the floor below Mr. A made emergency calls to 112 at 9:39 p.m., 9:43 p.m., 9:50 p.m., and 9:56 p.m.
Meanwhile, the suspect, surnamed Cho, fled after committing the crime but was arrested around midnight on the 21st, three hours after the 112 report. Cho is currently in custody. The police are investigating the precise motive behind Cho's actions.
