Actor Song Young-kyu was caught by the police for drunk driving. The case has currently been transferred to prosecutors.
The Yongin Dongbu Police Station stated on the 25th that Song Young-kyu was sent home without detention for violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving) at the end of last month.
Mr. Song is suspected of driving under the influence over a distance of about 5 kilometers from Giheung District to Cheoin District in Yongin around 11 p.m. on the 19th of last month. At that time, Mr. Song reportedly drove after having drinks with acquaintances.
The police responded to a report stating, 'It seems that someone who has been drinking is getting in a vehicle to drive.' The blood alcohol concentration of Song Young-kyu recorded a level that would lead to license revocation (0.08% or above).
Song Young-kyu debuted as a children's musical actor in 1994 and has appeared in various films, dramas, and plays up until recently.
